I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's bout.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
